Who will get the payout?

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Subscribers Settlement is only going to benefit those who purchased insurance coverage from BCBSA between February 7, 2008, and October 16, 2020. There are two categories of those receiving the settlement payout: first, fully insured customers, and second, self-funded customers.

How much will you get?

The total amount of the settlement is $2.67 billion, of which approximately $770 million is kept aside for lawyers and case processing. It has been decided that a settlement amounting to $1.9 billion will be used to pay the claims.

The claim amount is based on the insurance premium paid by each individual. If you paid higher premiums, you will get a higher amount, and if you have paid lower premiums, you are going to get a lower amount.

The number of payments is approximately 6 million, so it is possible that it will take approximately 2 weeks for everyone to receive the payment.
